Fact-checking by the Prof...
Posted by Jon Henke

Professor Bainbridge has two good fact-checks worth your attention....

#1

John Kerry says the Bush administration is "extreme" and out of touch with mainstream America. How the heck would Kerry know what mainstream America thinks? He has a lifetime ADA rating of 92 (two points higher than Ted Kennedy). Kerry's lifetime ACU rating is a mere 5. Between 1992 and 2000, the average ADA rating for US senators was 42, while senators averaged 56 on the ACU's scale. In sum, Kerry is so far to the left that he can't even see the mainstream from where he's standing.
I find it interesting that the media will suggest that Bush is a distant right-winger, while at the same time reporting how angry Conservatives are at Bush for not being, you know, a conservative. Meanwhile, reports of Kerry's "liberalism" are chalked up to a "Republican smear machine".

Jeez, it's your own ADA that called you a liberal, big guy. That's YOUR team. Take it like a man.

In #2, Bainbridge takes a look at the WMD panel and finds that, media claims to the contrary, the panel is "replete with people with experience at senior government levels in intelligence, the military, and international law."
