Kerry’s Special Interest
Posted by McQ

Seems our Mr. Kerry has been quite a opponent of special interests, so much so that he’s worked tirelessly to drain money from their coffers this last decade per David Brooks of the New York Times:

While sitting on the commerce and finance committees, Kerry has seen many interests, and you could forgive him if he didn't think they were all special. But Kerry has raised more money from Washington lobbyists than any other senator. He's raised more than $30 million over the past nine years, and you just ask the folks in the telecom industry if he doesn't make them feel special.

While its an interesting strategy (i.e. taking their money so they can’t use it to influence OTHER senators) I’m worried that others may not understand the unselfishness displayed here by Mr. Kerry. I’m just afraid that others may try to spin this is such a way as to be a negative for J F’n K when he tells everyone:

"And now I have a special message for the special interests that have a home in the Bush White House: 'we're coming, you're going, and don't let the door hit you on the way out'."

Its just possible people may not believe him.
