How to tell a candidate is withdrawing from the race
Posted by Jon Henke
It's a withdrawal speech when....
1: ...the candidate talks about winning in November...but doesn't talk about who will win.
2: ...the candidate obsequiously praises the frontrunner.
3: ...the candidate starts talking about what the campaign has accomplished.
If you hear that, it's over. For example....John Edwards post-primary speech tonight. He's out.
UPDATE: Meanwhile, John Kerry is throwing out the kind of red meat demagoguery that makes my head hurt. The Democrats may not like Bush, but I hope they have the decency to hold their nose when they vote for Kerry.
