Barbarians among us
Posted by McQ
John Hawkins at Right Wing News is undertandably upset by the reaction of some members at Democratic Underground's to the death of the 4 Americans in Falluja.
Apparently, per some of the contibutors the consensus is "they were mercenaries and deserved what they got." Typical of them is this:
cleofus1: "mercenaries. These men are just serial killers with a good retirement plan. They deserve what they get."
Right ... guys guarding a food shipment "deserve what they get".
Its pigs like cleofus1 one and his ilk that scare the hell out of me when I consider the extreme left and the vicious hate they spew.
The day before yesterday, I called those who perpetrated the atrocity, "barbarians".
It appears we have a few home-grown one's as well.
UPDATE - (JON): Via Instapundit, I note that Kos is also less than compassionate, writing....
That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them. And while we're at it, the people working in the World Trade Center weren't there to "help the people" or "because of orders". And they died. Shall we say "screw them", too?
NOW can we question your patriotism?
UPDATE II (McQ): Seems its ok to kill "rent-a-soldiers" to some. People who say things like this deserve nothing but contempt.
HT to T-Bone for the link
UPDATE III (McQ): Even the Arabs don't agree with the barbarians among us. From an editorial in ArabNews entitled, appropriately "Savagery":
The spectacle of the mutilated remains of four American contractors being paraded through the streets of Fallujah will have turned the stomachs of all who saw this savagery on their television screens. This was mob violence at its worst.
Those who participated in the butchery must be punished. The mob may oppose the Coalition occupation. They may support the insurgents. They may count the death of soldiers as victories. But there is no understanding the brutish slaughter of four unarmed men who were working to rebuild their country. It was a senseless crime of great barbarity.
I'll say it once again ... anyone who celebrates or writes off the death of these 4 Americans as deserved is a barbarian and a pig. And may I add, most likely a coward who'd never, ever put their nasty little ass in harm's way for anyone.
There are certain things which will get a rise out of me ... and this is one of them. I challenge any of the pieces of garbage who hold the opinion they "got what they deserved" to respond.
There's nothing I'd enjoy more than telling any and all of them precisely what I think of them, their parentage, lineage, and their disgusting opinion.
And yes, I DO question your patriotism.
UPDATE IV (McQ): As mentioned above, most of these jerks are just consumate cowards. Go try to find the post Jon linked on Kos. Its gone. And in its place is a long and insincere apologia ... at least that's my opinion. Oh and go read the "I really didn't mean it" update on Nathan Newman.
A pair without a pair between them.
UPDATE V (McQ): If your interested in taking some action, (and seeing what was originally said on The Daily Kos) hit this link.
It links to Michael Friedman's blog. He's mounting an email campaign aimed at the advertisers of The Daily Kos and has already had return emails from two of the severing their ties with that blog.
UPDATE VI (McQ): Amazing. Two of "The Daily Kos"'s advertisers have pulled out and their ads are no longer on that website.
Kudos to Michael Friedman for his effort. What an effective way to get the point across.
UPDATE VII (McQ): A correction and an apology. I apologize for having intimated that in a fit of cowardice Kos erased his original post.
It is still up in the comments section of another post. You have to scroll way down into the comments section to find it.
As for the rest of what I've said about him and his blog ... well, that stands.
