June 03, 2004 Birth I never cared about this sort of thing until I became a father. Now, I care deeply. Children must bring out the best in us, I think. Marc, from Marcland, has become a father with the birth of his first child, Willem Ronald. (he's got pictures, too) He writes... Isn't it remarkable when over the course of 24 hours, everything you thought was important pales in comparison to one new, utterly wonderful gift? How totally amazing to fall so totally, completely, and head-over-heels in love with a person you've only just really met.Parents everywhere can identify with that. The entire world changes in a moment. And I don't mean the "it will be years before you can sleep in past 8am again" kind of change. (though, he can look forward to that, too) |
