Franken/Boortz
Posted by Jon Henke

Based on what I've heard, Al Franken is dull. That being said, I'm not sure I've ever heard a more sound beatdown than that which Al Franken gave to Neal Boortz. Robert Cox at TheNationalDebate writes...

I listened in amazement the other day as Neil Boortz was absolutely skewered by Al Franken. It was the most disgraceful, embarassing performance I recall hearing on talk radio EVER. Neil Boortz was caught out in a flat out lie - on tape - and adamently refused to acknowledge the obvious. [...] What is so bad about Boortz handling of this situation is that he not only lied on CNN but kept lying repeatedly during the interview; even after Franken had played the CNN audio, Boortz tried to maintain that it was a transcript error. I imagine Franken could not believe his luck that Boortz would not admit the truth even when confronted with his own words on tape.
He's right, you know. I listened to the audio, and Boortz was completely insulting. Confronted with two (maybe 3) outright falsehoods, Boortz absolutely refused to concede that he was in error, instead attacking Al Franken for bringing it up. And then Neal Boortz had the gall to complain (and lie) about Franken on his own site.

Boortz should be ashamed.

You know, Jon, I had doubts about you.
You've cured that.

What did I do wrong and how did I fix it? :)

Boortz gets it wrong on occasion, Jon, and I've reamed him an extra when I felt the need. But I heard the show live, and his reaction to Franken in my view was more the justified.
