The campaign takes shape
Posted by Dale Franks

I got a Kick out ofthis paragraph in the New York Times, about the President campaigning in North Carolina.

When a questioner in Raleigh noted that Mr. Edwards had been described as charming and a "nimble campaigner" and asked Mr. Bush to compare the one-term senator to Vice President Dick Cheney, Mr. Bush snapped back: "Dick Cheney can be president. Next?"

That's pretty terse. Pretty funny, too.

saw it on TV. He was as snappy as it reads. Then some idiot said "Mr. President or Mr. Candidate?" though the context wasn't clear and Buch said "Mr. President. Thank you."

I saw it, yeah very snappy, and I think he hates the media. I can't say that I blame him, I'd probably hate them too.

I wondered whether it was a rehearsed answer. If not, it was magnificent. If so... ehhh.
