Kweisi's shocked and a little queasy
Posted by McQ

"Its unbelievable" ... well at least to the NAACP's Kweisi Mfume:

Kweisi Mfume, president of the NAACP, said it was "unbelievable" that Bush had declined an invitation to speak at the organization's annual meeting for the fourth consecutive year.

"When you are president, you are elected to be president of all the people," Mfume said at a news conference as the convention opened. "You won't do that if you refuse to talk."

Interesting take. Kweisi on the one hand is holding out the possiblity of support from the NAACP (he's got to be kidding if he believes anyone on either side is going to hit that hook) while on the other hand threatening ... what? Lack of support?

Heh ... uh, yo Kweisi, show me one time you supported a Republican ... ever.

He asked Bush to change his mind and promised that the Republican president would be treated with respect at the Philadelphia event this week even if many delegates oppose his politics.

A candidate who refuses to talk to any group risks losing votes in what is likely to be a tight presidential contest, Mfume said.

More than 12 million black people are registered to vote, according to the NAACP. Most are Democrats.

"I would ask the president to reconsider his unnecessarily harsh stance and to show America that he's bigger than that," he said.

Do we need to revisit the polls Kweisi? Do we need to revisit the ads ... Byrd's daughter telling us how she felt like here daddy had been killed all over again ... sponsored by the NAACP? Do we need to revisit your chairman Julian Bond's bigoted and disrespectful treatment of President Bush and the Republican party?

What Kweisi finds "unbelievable" is he's getting blown off. Its a bit like a pit bull savaging your leg and then rubbing up against it for some petting. What Kweisi also finds "unbelievable" is if the President blows him off, the NAACP becomes marginalized. Just another extreme left group who's going to have a pep rally with their chosen candidates.

Like it was ever going to be any other way in reality.

Back when, the NAACP used to matter. Oh, well.

One of the West Texas murderers got life, without parole; the other received the death penalty. Now those are the most severe penalties around. The
proposed 'hate crimes' bill, would have banned the
application of the death penalty. They are both
Aryan ex cons; what other punishment could have
fit the crime.
