So, Atrios is Duncan Black. As a bit of trivia, it's interesting. It's not quite like unmasking "Deep Throat", but perhaps it is the blogosphere equivalent.

That, however, deserves nothing more than a "huh". Instapundit points out the real issue....

...Duncan Black who, among other things, works for David Brock's Soros-funded Media Matters operation. Nothing wrong with that, but if I were working for, say, Richard Mellon Scaife, I think somebody -- like, say, Duncan Black -- would be making something of it.
In fact, Reynolds is exactly right. Duncan Black would make something of Scaife-funded right-wing information, and he has done so in the past.

For that matter, Oliver Willis, who also works for the Soros-funded MediaMatters, has had no apparent problem criticizing Scaife-funded right-wing information.

So, what we have are two critics, bought and paid for by the left wing, criticizing some media outlets and pundits for being....bought and paid for by the right wing.

When can we begin calling them "Duncan Ruddy" and "Oliver Ruddy"?

Hmmm. Last time I checked George Soros hasn't been broadcasting conspiracy theories about anyone on the right, unlike Mr. Scaife. And I don't know where people are getting the idea that MMFA is or isn't an organization that Mr. Soros has donated to.

We may have to agree to disagree on that, Oliver, considering the groups Soros funds, and their allegations and campaigns against Bush. Or his comparisons of the Bush administration to the Nazi's.

This, however..."I don't know where people are getting the idea that MMFA is or isn't an organization that Mr. Soros has donated to"...seems a strange defense. You can neither confirm, nor deny it?

Well, at the very least, Mr Soros donates large amounts of money to groups that DO fund Media Matters. Or the support of Soros friend and associate Peter Lewis.

It's just a regular objective group of non-partisan truth-seekers over there, isn't it, Oliver?

'Last time I checked George Soros hasn't been broadcasting conspiracy theories about anyone on the right' - Wow is that a joke? Is it the condescending type of lie that assumes people are so uninformed they'd actually believe it? Maybe his statement about saying how he grew up in occupied Hungary and GWB is just like the Nazis and he knows ........

See, it's not the same because of some trivial difference that requires moral gymnastics to squeeze between the parallels. The Left can always find something that excuses their particular brand of hypocrisy, even if it doesn't bear at all upon the facts.
