Headspace and Timing
Posted by Jon Henke

This news...

Much of the information that led the authorities to raise the terror alert at several large financial institutions in the New York City and Washington areas was three or four years old.

...has led to quite an uproar from the left today. Naturally, the "timing" of the whole thing was questioned.

Funny, I recall them complaining loud and long when that the administration didn't act (they did act, but nevermind that for now) on information that was "historical in nature". The August 6th PDB, you may recall, consisted entirely of material dated between 1997-1998-1999.

Today, however, 2-3 year old intelligence information couldn't possibly be relevant to potential current attacks. I mean, who could imagine such a thing?

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has a great deal more.

Yes. Also, while the intelligence is old, the discovery of the intelligence is not. Critics ignore this fact.

Thus proving that the left and their minions simply cannot be trusted to be in charge of national security. They can't stop playing politics for even a second. Can you say "unserious"?

This "timing" thing is getting really old. When the Sandy Berger story broke, the left almost unanimously sniffed that the timing of the story was suspicious.

But if you've only got a wrench in your toolbox, everything you see will appear to need tightening.

Consider that the Aug 2001 PDB; was very derivative of the Dec 1998 PDB; What overt
act did Clinton do in response; a pointless
77 day campaign in Kosovo, is support of the
Al Queda affiliated KLA. It was ended only
through a Swedish brokered ceasefire that
legitimized Milosevic
