Democracy and Islamofascism
Posted by Dale Franks
Cody Hatch rounds up the political successes that militant Islam is trying to achieve in western nations.
Evidence of militant Islam's success is increasing. Events in Spain were virtually coreographed by terrorists, with Spain bowing out of the fight. Unfortunately for Spain, by virtue of their geography and history, they are still on the front lines of the war - whether they choose to fight or not.
The Philippines, Honduras, and Nicaragua capitulated shortly after Spain did, emboldening the terrorists and inviting even more terror upon the West. Now, Turkey's largest trucking union has pledged to stop shipping supplies to US troops. Islamic terrorists are seeking to isolate the US and her troops, and many of our "allies" are obliging them.
Today we find out that terrorists were planning to attack London's Heathrow airport, ostensibly to bring the type of political pressure to bear on Tony Blair's government that was exerted in Spain.
Europe, with its swiftly growing Muslim minority, is especially susceptible to political influence from Islamic terrorists. As al-Qaeda scores more political victories, pressure will mount for moderate and liberal nations to reduce or eliminate their pressure upon al-Qaeda. If we do not stand strong against them, al-Qaeda will seek a geographic territory for their quasi-state, and pacifistic, intimidated and cowed liberal democracies will cave into their demands.
This merely firms up my belief that the terrorists will actively seek to affect the outcome of our elections in the same way they did in Spain.
